Their big selling point is that is has obgyn .net's seal of approval, but Very Private is actually a sponsor of the website. On top of that, the website itself doesn't look extremely professional and reliable as a medical reference to begin with. There goes that selling point.------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a number of problems with the ingredient list (which is only located on the outer product carton): -Sodium hydroxide, AKA lye, is a strong base. Since the vagina is naturally acidic and has the ability to pH balance itself, this may actually disrupt the natural pH balance of the vagina. So while Very Private is a "pH balanced body wash," it makes no claims to make the user pH balanced as I think many assume. -Nonoxynol-9 is commonly used as a spermicide. I thought that since I didn't feel it, maybe it was no longer worth the price. This product was cheaper and got good reviews so I tried it. I didn't feel anything with this product either but I did catch a yeast infection for the first time in a few years. I never had yeast infections with Nirena. So I decided that it's worth it to pay the extra and get the product that works. |
